My Grade!!!

Many students are going to be shocked when they look at their grades- not in a good way! Many students are failing to follow through on turning in homework and other assigned tasks. These tasks that have been collected are the easy ones. Classes only become more difficult from here! If you are having trouble keeping up now, you should work on getting a system down to manage your time and assignments now.

We are almost to the halfway point for the first quarter and there are many students who will not be receiving a passing grade on their progress reports because they are not turning in work. The assignments that have been collected are no longer being accepted according to the late work policy. Homework assignments were already extended by one week.

If you have not been into FOCUS to look at your grade, I suggest that you do this as soon as possible. I also suggest that you start checking your grades on a regular basis to ensure that you are getting the grades that you desire.

Everyone should be using their planners to write down important dates. We do this together in this class and everything that needs to be turned in is on the board for an entire unit. Now is the time to get a system in place and to begin turning over a new leaf!!

As for students who think that their grade is posted in error, here are the common mistakes that need to be corrected AFTER CLASS when we return to school:

Assignments have been turned in without a name

Assignments have been turned in to the incorrect place

Assignments were incomplete or the directions for the assignments were not followed

We have to start listening to the instructions so that we do the assignments correctly. We also have to start turning our work in on time- this is a mark of a true leader, which Landon prides itself on creating in our learners.

Let’s reset and have a much better second half of this quarter! I know that each of you can do it!

Please Note

We will be recalculating days this month for our assigned work. I have updated the calendar on the blog to reflect the most recent date layout. As you can see, the assignments have not changed- only the dates have been rearranged.

Students who have completed their homework assignments by 8/21 (the original due date) are welcome to turn them in. Students who are not yet done with the assignments are welcome to turn them in on the actual test date for this unit.
